In Japan we use the word “尊厳(そんげん-songen)” for the English word “Dignity” when we translate this words into Japanese [“尊厳” also has a meaning of “Sanctity”]. And we have several similar meaning words for “尊厳”. The following words are some examples; “威厳(いげん-igen)”, “品格(ひんかく-hinkaku)”[means Dignity or Prestige] and “品位(ひんい-hini)”[means Dignity or Grade] etc.
