Provably most of the visitors of this site know how to say “Japanese language” in Japanese. But for the people who don’t know how to say or how to write this word, I try to write the word in Japanese and add a short explanation on this post.

As you can see left side image, we write “日本語(にほんご – nihongo)” for Japanese language. The first two Kanji letters (日本 – nihon) mean Japan and the last one (語 – go) means language. So for English language we say “英語(えいご – eigo)”, for German language we say “独逸語(どいつご – doitsugo)”, for French we say “フランス語(ふらんすご – furansugo)”, for Spanish we say “スペイン語(すぺいんご- supeingo)”, for Korean we say “韓国語(かんこくご – kankokugo)” and for Chinese we say “中国語(ちゅうごくご – chuugokugo)”.

And we use like following example;
どうか この日本語を 英語に 訳して下さい(douka kono nihongo wo eigo ni yakushite kudasai). The meaning of this Japanese sentence is; Please translate this Japanese into English.
