“異” Related Japanese Kanji Words

異-Kanji for different

The Japanese Kanji “異(い – I or こと – koto)” has the meaning for “different”. And we use this kanji like the following sentence.

“私はあなたとは異なる意見を持っています(watashi ha anata toha kotonaru iken wo motteimasu)” – I have a different opinion from you.

Here is a kanji “違(い-I orちが-chiga )” which has similar meaning to “異”. And we use this kanji like the following sentence.

“私はあなたとは違う意見を持っています(watashi ha anata toha chigau iken wo motteimasu)” – I have a different opinion from you.
